Good Morning Huntley High School! Welcome to another newscast of Raider Nation News!
Next week is a busy week. AP testing will be in full swing, National School Nurse Appreciation Day is on Wednesday, and it is the last week for seniors.
Senior textbook and novel returns take place on May 13 and 14 with drop off at Door 10.
We did not want to leave without sharing a humble brag - the HHS Publications Team took FIRST PLACE at the state tournament totalling more points at the state final than any other team in the tournament’s history. Raider Nation News’s very own Jacob Habel and Paige DeSimone placed fifth in the Video News category. A huge shout out to ALL of the contestants that placed in their categories helping to lead the team to the state title. First place winners Sydney Laput for photo storytelling, Ellie Armstrong for copy editing, and Sara Gebka for editorial cartooning; second place winner Nick Pratt for yearbook layout; third place winner Maggie Kirwin for infographics, fifth place winners Alex Garleb for newspaper design, Amelia Pozniak for editorial writing, and Natalie VonderHeide for feature writing; and sixth place winner Kate Alvarado for broadcast news. Congratulations again for being the second team in Huntley history to earn the state championship title.
It’s safe to say this year has been historic. That being said, you have less than a month to purchase your piece of history: the 2020-2021 Harmony Yearbook. We have an insider look on the never before seen cover, let’s take a look.
As we come to the close of Teacher Appreciation Week, our HHS students would like to share a message with the staff.
